This exciting 8 days’ tour around the island includes the most important archaeological sites ­and museums on Crete. Monuments of every age are selected and precedence is given to the visually spectacular. The result is a journey in the island's heart with an in-depth look at the past and an intimate perspective of today’s Crete, its people, culture and landscapes. With a good mix of history, architecture, art and general interest, the Grand Tour is suitable either for first-time visitors or for those with some familiarity already. It is a full itinerary, but with a manageable pace. Plenty of time is available on the sites and in the museums, allowing opportunity both for adequate exposition by the guide, while the late afternoons and evenings are  mainly left at leisure for you to relax or explore further on your own - the hotels booked are centrally located so you can easily get orientated in each location  we are staying. The tour starts in Heraklion and ends in Chania.
